Dusty Hewit, MSM
After graduating from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, I moved to the Finger Lakes region of New York and began my career in small-town print journalism. Soon, I took a public/media relations job with a regional health care system, writing press releases, ads, scripts, memos, newsletter content, and pretty much anything else they needed.
I managed community relations for a non-profit human service agency after that, and from there, got a job managing client services for a marketing communications agency. There, I focused on clients in the health care, human service, education, economic development, and manufacturing sectors. Our team delivered strategy/planning, content development, graphic design, web programming, event planning, media buying, and more.
During this time, I earned my Master’s degree in Management, then returned to my first professional love – health care. I managed marketing and communications efforts for a multi-hospital system for eight years, working with a small but mighty team and several talented contractors providing services like graphic design, copy writing, and web services. I also served as Communications and Foundation Director for a small, rural hospital through the start of a major construction project and an affiliation with a regional system.
My wife and I are raising our teenage daughter in upstate New York, where we love running, wine tasting, running our independent bookstore, skateboarding, cooking, and whatever else this beautiful region can offer.
I’m a believer in lifelong learning, and enjoy working with every type of organization to help them realize their communications objectives.
